02/08 Are you a fan of Inside? Of course you are! Well, arriving in France this March is In Their Sleep, Caroline du Potet and Eric Du Potet's thriller that comes from the producers of the classic bloodfest.

Synopsis: "One year after her teenage son's death, Sarah's life is in pieces. Then late one night, her car accidentally hits Arthur, a young man the same age as her boy, who suddenly emerges out of the forest and onto the road. Wounded and frightened, he is running from a mysterious assailant, hunting him down after Arthur caught him red handed in the act of burglary. Sarah sympathizes with him, taking him in, only to be tracked down by the burglar whose murderous rage towards Arthur forces her to take action. Unbeknownst to Sarah, things aren't quite the way they seem…but by the time she finally realizes, it is too late to turn back…"

02/08 Saw VII 3D The Last In The Franchise? In an interview with a UK radio station 107.5 Demon FM late last year that our brothers in arms over at Latino Review transcribed, writer Patrick Melton dropped the following bombshell on fans:

"I think it's going to end with Saw VII. I have a very strong feeling it's going to end with Saw VII. That's something we're debating now. You saw in previous interviews or discussions where we thought Saw VIII would be the last one where we had the first trilogy and the second trilogy and then sort of a grand finale wrapped up in two films. But frankly because Saw VI hasn't performed as well as we anticipated, the idea is well, why make two movies when we can make one really excellent movie that wraps up as best we can? And it's going to be in 3D, which sort of adds to the spectacle. So if you had to ask me, I don't own the franchise, nor do I run the studio, but I have a feeling, a strong feeling that it's going to be Saw VII which will be also known as Endgame. And nothing's official yet, but that's where we're hoping things will go."

02/08 Tony Todd Has Been Cast In The Upcoming Vampire Flick Thirst: The Last Sin

Synopsis: Set hundreds of years in the future where only Vampires roam the earth. They built an empire, and squandered their only resource; man. Now, most of these immortal beings live out eternity in an abject state of unquenchable thirst, while a few cling to some pathetic remains. This is the allegorical story of the rise and fall of an empire, and lessons not learned. Tony’s character will span the ages, and bring a large presence to the role. Tony is 6’ 5”! According, however, to Producer Bob Myers, “This isn’t your typical ‘Big Guy’ role. We’re going to have to see Tony’s full range for this part, and I’m sure he will deliver.”

02/03 Teaser Trailer For The Spanish Horror Flick The Silent House:

Synopsis: Laura (Florencia Colucci) and her father ( Gustavo Alonso) settle down in a cottage which seems to be off the beaten track in order to update it since its owner ( Abel Tripaldi) will soon put the house on sale. They will spend the night there in order to start the repairs the following morning. Everything seems to go on smoothly until Laura hears a sound that comes from outside and gets louder and louder in the upper floor of the house. Wilson goes up to see what is going on while she remains downstairs on her own waiting for her father to come down. The plot is based on a true story that happened some time ago in a small village in Uruguay . “ La Casa Muda ” focuses on the last seventy four minutes, second by second, when Laura intends to leave the house which hides an obscure secret and she hopes to leave unharmed.

Filmed digitally using the Canon EOS 5D Mark, the film was meticulous planned to be shot without any cuts to give horror viewers an experience unlike any other they've ever seen in a narrative feature. Real fear in real time.

02/01 Childs Play Remake Goes Into Production: Writer:/Director Don Mancini talks about the remake and how its not a scene by scene redo.

"It’s a remake, but there are a lot of new things in it. None of the details of the murders in the first movie will be repeated.
All of the set pieces are going to be completely brand new, and we’re going to do a slight re-design on Chucky himself, although Brad Dourif will absolutely be the voice of Chucky, and will once again play Charles Lee Ray in the flesh. And we’re giving him more to do than he did in the original movie."

As reported earlier Brad Dourif will also be back for the remake.

01/29 Kevin Williamson Updates On Scream IV: With all of the stars returning, Williamson's original version of the story will be hitting the big screen with no compromise.

"I'm almost done with the first draft of Scream 4," he tells IESB.net. "I'm trying to get that together for Wes Craven. We've got to get going on that, during the hiatus. We have Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and Dave Arquette. I was always holding out hope because the pitch was about those three characters. I didn't want to have to re-route the whole story. We don't have to do that. I can do it exactly the way I want wanted. The story is going to be told the way I originally conceived it."

He also chats about the strong mystery of who this Ghostface will be.

"Well, that's the whole point of the movie," he tells the site. "What I have always liked about this movie versus the other horror films is that I feel like there are characters. In other horror movies, you remember Michael Meyers and you remember Jason. In our film, I think you remember Sydney Prescott because Sydney Prescott's the victim and she has lasted for all three of these movies. The fun of the film is that it's Sydney Prescott. That's the difference and you care about her. I want to write a story where you actually care about our characters and it's a plot that you watch them walk through. It's not all about the next kill. It's not all about slice and dice. I was watching Saw VI on pay per view the other night and I was like, "This is really just going from one kill to the next, to the next." It's fun, but I want to tell a story." Williamson also confirms he's locked in for Scream 4 and 5 and that it is a planned trilogy.
